- Normally, it is the staff from the slaughterhouse, an external company we hire, who must ensure that the stable is empty and it is in that step that it has broken down, says Claes Cedergren, CEO of the company.

Immediately ended the collaboration

After a sneak peek from the animal rights organization Djurrättsalliansen was published, where it is seen that several hens are killed with wooden sticks and a hen is squeezed in a door, the egg supplier has taken action.

CA Cedergren ended the collaboration with the cleaning company whose staff is suspected of having tortured the animals. On Friday, the company announced that its own staff will always be on site when emptying the stable in the future.

- The slaughter truck must be kept as long as possible so we with our own staff have time to vacuum all live animals that remain in the stable. Thus, we ensure that it is our responsibility that the stable is completely empty before starting the rough decontamination, says Claes Cedergren.

Only own staff

In addition, own staff must be available if live animals are discovered when cleaning the stable.

- If external staff who are to clean, presumably detect live animals, they shall under no circumstances ever again die animals themselves, but this is done by their own staff.

Do you think that consumers' trust in you is damaged?

- It is difficult to say, but we are taking the necessary measures and we are also conducting our own internal investigation, says Claes Cedergren.
