More than 150 people have died and more than 5,000 people have been injured after the explosions in Beirut. SVT's Middle East correspondent Stina Blomgren tells about the anger that was aroused after the explosion.

- The grief and shock has now begun to give way to an increasing anger towards the authorities that this catastrophe could even happen, she says in SVT's Morgonstudion.

The head of the port arrested

Last night, it became violent when protesters protested against the country's government. In addition, 16 people connected to the port of Beirut were arrested.

- The head of the port of Beirut, the head of customs and several other senior officials in customs and port are among those arrested. Some workers who were in charge of the inspection and security at the port must also have been arrested.

Many people are still missing and the search continues for them.

- People go from hospital to hospital to look and you also look in the racial masses. Three hospitals were completely destroyed and there are over 5,000 injured, so the need for care is enormous.

Help has arrived

Around 300,000 people are said to have become homeless after the disaster and several countries are now helping Lebanon.

- Russia flew into a field hospital yesterday which was set up at a sports arena. France has come up with three planes with emergency aid but the needs are very great.

Blomgren also says that an investigation into the explosions will soon be completed.

- The authorities have appointed an investigation which in four days will determine who is responsible. But many doubt whether it will show the whole truth and many also demand an independent investigation, says Stina Blomgren.
