Rosstat recalled that they are conducting "statistics of deaths from coronavirus infection, highlighting four groups of deaths of people diagnosed with COVID-19."

So, in 1,589 deaths in June, coronavirus "is assumed as the main cause of death, but the results of tests for the presence of coronavirus infection are still being investigated."

“COVID-19 influenced the development of other diseases and contributed to the emergence of complications that hastened the death of the patient. In June 2020, 1,399 such cases were recorded; COVID-19 was diagnosed, but did not in any way affect the onset of death. There were 3,481 such cases in June, ”the ministry said in a statement.

In July, Russian leader Vladimir Putin said that the mortality rate from coronavirus infection per 100,000 population in Russia is several times lower than in many other countries.

At the end of May, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said that in Russia all the causes of death, "which are somehow related to the impact of COVID-19," were divided into groups.
