“We were officially notified of the end of the investigative actions,” the lawyer told RIA Novosti.

Earlier, as the lawyer said, the Investigative Committee came to the conclusion that there was no customer in the Golunov case - the operational officers planted drugs on him in order to "improve his performance."

On July 22, the Moscow City Court canceled the order to extend the arrest of four ex-policemen and sent the investigation's petition for reconsideration to the Basmanny Court.

Golunov was detained on June 6, 2019 in the center of Moscow; a bag of drugs was found in his backpack, which, he said, had been planted on him. All charges were subsequently dropped from him.

In January, the court arrested Igor Lyakhovets, Denis Konovalov, Roman Feofanov, Akbar Sergaliev and Maxim Umetbaev, who took part in the arrest. They are accused of abuse of office, falsification of evidence and drug trafficking.

Later Konovalov confessed and was transferred to house arrest, the rest of the defendants were extended their detention until the fall.
