Mr. Takahashi, who is newly appointed as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Security and Crisis Management, is 62 years old.

In 1983, I joined the Defense Agency at that time and served as the director of the Ministry of Defense's Development Planning Bureau and Chief Cabinet Secretary.

Mr. Maeda, who retired, served as Deputy Secretary-General of the Secretariat since August when he served as Director of Defense Policy Bureau of the Ministry of Defense.

This appointment will be issued on the 7th.

According to the Cabinet Secretariat, it is the first time that the Deputy Secretary-General of a ministry has been appointed as Deputy Secretary-General since the post of Assistant Deputy Secretary-General was made in 2001.
