The principal Norra Västmanland's education association has made the decision after a review. The reason is that it cannot be ensured that the education can meet the requirements set according to the Education Act.

- It is about the environment for the students who should be safe and able to have a good study environment, says Peter Mattsson, sports director at the Swedish Sports Confederation.

What signals have you received at the Swedish Sports Confederation?

- We have received information from our whistleblower function which indicates that there are problems in the students' study environment there.

The Swedish Sports Confederation has the task of submitting proposals to the National Agency for Education at the Swedish National Sports High School (RIG) in accordance with the Upper Secondary School Ordinance. The proposal includes which sports, places and number of places apply to RIG.

- What is special about this situation is that the principal chooses to break the agreement during the current three-year period. It has only happened once before, says Peter Mattsson.

The school has existed since 1999 and had four study places per year with the opportunity to combine high school studies with water skiing or wakeboarding. Students are now offered to continue their high school studies in Fagersta or in their home municipality.

During the day, SVT sought the principal Norra Västmanland's education association for a comment, but without success.
