“The factions in the State Duma supported this initiative. I believe this is correct. But only if the medical examination will be treated responsibly. And not only citizens, but also those who will carry out this medical examination. The fact is that we have it very often: they go to the doctor when the disease is in a serious stage. And the ideology should be different. It is necessary to take measures in the early stages so that the disease is either prevented or stopped. It is both simpler and cheaper, and from the point of view of protecting human health, the right approach, ”said Nilov.

The deputy added that it is extremely important that a day off from work "does not turn out like just a day off, when they will come to the therapist just for formalities."

“I believe that you need to think about your health constantly. We must fight the causes, not the consequences, ”he concluded.

On July 31, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law according to which working Russians over 40 will be able to get an additional paid day off once a year to undergo medical examination.

The document will take effect on August 11.
