TASS informs about this with reference to the message of the diplomatic mission.
“On August 5, we received a presentation from the Japanese Foreign Ministry in connection with the participation of the head of the Russian Emergencies Ministry, Yevgeny Zinichev, in the opening of the Emergency Rescue Center of the Russian Emergencies Ministry on Kunashir Island,” the embassy said.
Russian diplomats, in response to the submission, stated that they considered such claims by Tokyo to be categorically unacceptable.
The embassy stressed that the sovereignty of Russia over the southern Kuril Islands is beyond question. In addition, the diplomatic mission indicated that Russia has every right to carry out any activity on its territory.
Earlier, the Foreign Ministry said that Russia categorically does not accept Japan's claims regarding defense measures in the Kuril Islands.
