Russian Embassy assessed US report on "Russian propaganda"

“The State Department hates the existence of alternative sources of information. Serious resources are involved to discredit them. Any voice that contradicts Washington is declared “disinformation” in the service of the “Kremlin” and the Russian special services, ”the embassy said.

The Russian side adds that the authors of the document do not even hesitate to go to the point of absurdity, pointing, for example, State Duma deputy Vladimir Zhirinovsky and the private radio station "Moscow Says" as an example of "official government communications."

"The mentioned report is an attempt to drown out the official Russian proposals for the resumption of cooperation in key areas on which the security of the whole world depends," the diplomatic mission stressed.

Earlier it was reported that the US Department of State has published a report "Basics of disinformation and propaganda in Russia."

In July, it was reported that the US State Department was asking for $ 138 million in the 2021 budget to combat "disinformation and propaganda" from Russia.
