Asahi Shimbun reported that the number of people infected with corona increased 2.4 times after the Japanese government launched a struggling travel campaign to encourage domestic travel.

Asahi pointed out that Japan had an average of 546 daily diagnoses from July 15 to 21, before the project began.

Tokyo had 232 people, but the other municipalities were less than 100, and eight were never confirmed.

However, from July 29 to August 4, the number of confirmed persons increased to 1,305, and the average number of confirmed persons per day exceeded 100 in three local governments except Tokyo.

Okinawa was confirmed by one person a day for a week before Koto Travel, but the recent week has increased to 58 per day.

Asahi analyzed that governments are struggling to travel and that there are cases in which travel and returning homes are infected in the Obon holiday on August 15th.

He also pointed out that it is difficult to prevent infection when people cross the border of the region.
