On August 6, 2020, the Long March 2D carrier rocket ignited into space at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, successfully sending the Gaofen 9 04 satellite and the Tsinghua Science Satellite into the intended orbit. The Long March 2D carrier rocket was developed by the Shanghai Aerospace Technology Research Institute under China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation. This is the 342th launch of China's Long March series of carrier rockets, the 120th flight test of the Long March series of carrier rockets developed by the Shanghai Academy of Aerospace Technology, and the 50th launch of the Long March 2D carrier rocket. So far, the Long March No. 2 has created an excellent record of 50 rounds in 30 years, sending more than 100 satellites into space.
