President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed Vasily Burba from the post of head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of the country and appointed Kirill Budanov to this post. The corresponding decrees are published on the website of the Ukrainian leader.
The head of state's office explained this decision "by the need to reformat and intensify work, to search for and implement modern approaches and views on solving security issues."
In June, Zelenskiy replaced the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service. The department was headed by Valery Kondratyuk.
