Martigues and its surroundings are on fire. A violent fire broke out yesterday afternoon in the town of Bouches-du-Rhône and, at the time of this writing, the flames have not stopped, although the fire has been stabilized thanks to the 1,800 firefighters mobilized All night long.
Despite their efforts, the fire wreaked havoc: campsites destroyed, hundreds of hectares ravaged… In total, no less than 2,700 people had to be evacuated.
