Catalan deputies have one last extraordinary plenary session before going on vacation, although it will be for a whole day, next Friday, in which they will discuss the political situation after "the crisis opened by the Spanish monarchy as a result of the investigation of the Swiss Prosecutor's Office on the activities of the previous king of Spain and his flight ", as indicated in the order of the day. In this way, the President of the Parliament, Roger Torrent, complies with the request of the President of the Generalitat, Quim Torra, to hold a session on the march of Spain by King Emeritus Don Juan Carlos, in which the abdication of Felipe VI, as this Tuesday the head of the Catalan Executive already announced.

The debate will begin with the intervention of President Quim Torra without a time limit and then all the representatives of the parliamentary groups, ending with the two that support the Govern, ERC and JxCAT, which are expected to do so in the afternoon. Torra will be able to respond to any intervention and there will be a reply time before voting on the resolutions at night. As a consequence of the effects of the coronavirus, the plenary will be in a reduced format with about twenty deputies in the session room.

Torra yesterday demanded this appearance to request explanations from the monarch as well as from the government that he accused of having "allowed, facilitated and applauded the flight of a person full of privileges and investigated for a huge case of corruption." For this reason, the president wants the plenary to establish a "common position" around "the open crisis of the monarchy", although it must be the parliamentary groups that must agree on "shared expositions" on petitions to the monarchy, bearing in mind that "it is a serious situation that seriously compromises Spanish democracy". Cs made Torra ugly that instead of explaining his management of the pandemic or his refusal to attend the presidents' meeting, he dedicates himself to trying to erode state institutions with this plenary session.
