Gérard Trémège, LR mayor of Tarbes, was sentenced on Tuesday by the Tarbes criminal court to pay a fine of 35,000 euros for non-payment of social contributions related to his activity as auditor. The vice-president of the Republicans, had failed between 2010 and 2012 to pay his contributions to the Urssaf and had committed several irregularities: use of a Siren number linked to his former function as president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry des Hautes-Pyrénées, unnumbered invoices, wrong invoicing address.

“The court has delivered its judgment. I take note of it. It is a decision rendered on an equitable basis. (Gérard Trémège) recognizes the materiality of the facts, but not the intention, besides the Urssaf did not bring civil action. There is no fraudulent intention on his part, it is a non-event ”, declared his lawyer Roger-Vincent Calatayud, and also his deputy at the town hall, who had pleaded the release.

During the hearing on June 9, the prosecutor requested a 45,000 euros fine. "We cannot accept that those who have very important responsibilities such as auditors do not comply with the regulations," the prosecutor said at the hearing. An auditor is responsible for auditing the accounts of a company. This is a report from an Urssaf official at the end of 2013, which led to the opening of a preliminary investigation. The damage was estimated at 81,000 euros by the gendarmes of the Toulouse research section.

Gérard Trémège, mayor of Tarbes since 2001, is also indicted for "illegal taking of interest", "passive influence peddling" and "favoritism" in a case relating to the award of public contracts and resale by the municipality of land and real estate.
