Earlier, the office of the Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that the President of Ukraine had discussed with the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko the issue of extradition of Russian citizens detained in the republic.

In turn, Lukashenko, in an interview with Zelensky, said that the issue of extradition of the Russians detained in the republic would be resolved taking into account the international agreements signed by Minsk, Moscow and Kiev.

On July 29, the state Belarusian news agency BelTA announced the arrest of 33 Russians in Belarus. On July 30 it became known that the detainees were suspected of preparing riots.

The press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that the Kremlin expects that the Russians detained in Belarus will be released in the near future.
