Romain Bardet, injured in his left elbow, does not suffer from a fracture, but forfeited the Mont Ventoux Dénivelé Challenge scheduled for Thursday, we learned from his team AG2R La Mondiale on Wednesday.

The leader of the French team fell last Saturday in the first stage of the Route d'Occitanie, a race he nevertheless completed.

His injury does not call into question his participation in the Dauphiné, which will start from his city of Clermont-Ferrand next Wednesday.

L'Auvergnat, second in the 2016 Tour (and 3rd in 2017), took second place last year in the Mont Ventoux Dénivelé Challenge, of which it was the first edition.
