Notice to those who wish to change their life: the island of Rùm, located in the archipelago of the Inner Hebrides (Scotland), is looking for new inhabitants. The small, isolated island wants to boost the local economy and expand its population, reports HuffPost .

The announcement, posted on the  Isle of Rum News site, invites all interested to come and settle in one of the four new eco-houses on the island, currently under construction. About 40 people already live in Scotland.

In search of "dynamic individuals or families"

The houses under construction have two bedrooms and are located not far from the village of Kinloch. Besides the inhabitants, the island is home to deer and bison. On the professional side, jobs are available in fish farming, childcare and food production.

"The island of Rùm is looking for dynamic individuals or families who wish to integrate into the island way of life and contribute to a positive change for this young and growing community", specifies the advertisement published on the site of the 'Isle. Applicants have until August 28, 2020 to apply.
