According to Mats Persson, Sweden risks entering a deep and prolonged recession with a record high unemployment as a result.

The Liberals will therefore in the budget negotiations with the government prioritize tax cuts to stimulate investment, make it cheaper to hire and reduce the tax on earned income, Persson says.

- The Liberals will continue to stand up for the line of work and that our citizens should have a job to go to. However, not all jobs are created in the public sector, but we must continue to protect the Swedish business community to prevent mass unemployment, he says.

The center wants to reduce the tax for low- and middle-income earners

The government and the January parties' autumn budget will be presented on 21 September. Tax cuts are part of the January agreement between the government, the Liberals and the Center Party. Earlier this summer, the Center announced that they would like to see a broad and general tax cut, mainly for people with lower and medium incomes, of at least SEK 2,000 a year.

At the end of June, Magdalena Andersson and the Ministry of Finance sent out four proposals for tax cuts for consultation prior to the negotiations. These are tax reductions for earned income, reduced pension tax, reduced state income tax and an extension of the so-called expert tax.
