At 03.30 on Tuesday night, the police were alerted to a home in Katrineholm. It was a man who was messy and threatened to injure his dog with a firearm.

The fire brigade was also alerted

The police smelled flammable liquid on the spot and the rescue service was also alerted to the scene. After a couple of hours, the police managed to get control of the man, who was handcuffed and arrested.

- The man has now been arrested because he has previously been convicted of similar crimes, prosecutor Rahima Ortac says.

The dog was taken care of

The man, who is in his 30s, is suspected of gun crime, threats against an official, animal cruelty and minor drug crimes.

- The dog was initially taken care of by the police and now it is up to the county administrative board to decide what will happen to it, says Björn Öberg, the police's press spokesperson.
