This Tuesday, the Spanish Video Game Association and IFEMA have announced the cancellation of the Madrid Games Week (MGW) fair , scheduled between October 9 and 12 . One more event that has been devastated by the coronavirus crisis .

"It is a consensual decision among the organizers," they have reported through a press release, where they have also explained that this seeks to " offer a more favorable meeting environment for companies and visitors ." This, bearing in mind that it is one of the largest events in the industry in Spain and that in its last edition it received more than 139,200 attendees .

The Madrid Games Week fair is the space for professionals, gamers and the general public to find the latest electronic products for leisure and games. According to the latest data published by AEVI, the annual turnover of the video game industry in Spain is 1,479 million euros.

In its latest edition, the fair brought together the most relevant interactive entertainment and digital entertainment companies, such as Bandai Namco Entertainment, Game; Nintendo, Sony Interactive Entertainment, Ubisoft Spain, and Warner Bros Entertainment.
