Several alarms were received shortly after 6 pm on Tuesday about a man swimming in the river. It was feared that he was drowning. Before the rescue service and ambulance arrived, the man had been picked up from the water by a private boat.

The man was alive and "talkable". According to the Coast Guard, which was also alerted to the scene, the man is said to have stated that a girl jumped in after him. However, there do not appear to be any witnesses who have seen another person in the water. For safety's sake, the search continues for a while longer.

The man must have walked in the water at Ångbåtsbryggan, ie relatively close to Röda Sten and on the same side of the river.
