The number of Covid-19 patients hospitalized in intensive care recorded its second consecutive increase after a general downward trend since April, according to the Directorate General of Health, which reported on Tuesday

The number of patients in intensive care rose to 388 on Tuesday, or 4 more, after an increase of 13 patients already between Friday and Monday.

Ile-de-France, the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, Hauts-de-France and Guyana account for 70% of these patients in sheaves.

The number of patients in intensive care had already increased by one person last Thursday, which was the very first increase seen since April 9, before falling again the following day.

The death toll now stands at 30,296, including 19,790 in hospitals and 10,506 in nursing homes (the latter figure has been revised downwards compared to the 10,515 announced last Tuesday).

The country had 13 new outbreaks of grouped cases (clusters) on Tuesday, but 441 clusters were closed, and 1,039 new cases of Covid-19 confirmed in the last 24 hours.

While the Scientific Council which guides the government has warned of the threat of an uncontrolled resumption of the epidemic, the ministry recalls the rules of caution.

"In a situation at risk of contamination such as festive gatherings, family, sporting events ..., favor small groups, keep your distance, equip yourself with masks for the general public and hydroalcoholic gels, prefer outdoor spaces, ventilate the local"...

"At the slightest symptom, even mild, or if you are called by the health authorities or if you have found yourself in a risk situation: it is imperative to get tested quickly, to isolate yourself immediately to protect your loved ones and especially those who are the most fragile and are more likely to develop serious forms, "he insists.
