Special sources said to the island that an American delegation entered the PKK sites in the Qandil Mountains in the Kurdistan region of Iraq the day before yesterday, Saturday, with the protection of more than 15 aircraft.

According to the source, the delegation met with a number of PKK leaders and asked them to break their ties with the Kurds in northeastern Syria and the so-called self-administration in order not to give arguments to Turkey to intervene.

The source added that the American side presented a peace project to the PKK, similar to the peace project with the Taliban in Afghanistan.

No information has yet been released from official sources, whether from the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq or the PKK in this regard.

In mid-June, Ankara announced a military operation targeting the PKK strongholds in the areas of Sinjar, Qirgic, Qandil, Zab, Afshin Basyan, and Hakurk, in northern Iraq, noting the bombing of caves, bunkers and fortifications.

At the time, Ankara said that the operation came in response to attacks launched by PKK militants, and one of the attacks targeted a bus carrying workers in the state of "Van" (southeastern Turkey), killing two of them and wounding 8 others.

The Turkish operation sparked a protest by Iraq, which it considered a violation of its sovereignty, and summoned the Turkish Ambassador to inform him of his protest.
