"According to the operational data of Avialesokhrana, 75 natural fires operate on the territory of Yakutia on a total area covered by fire, 256 971 hectares, while the area of active combustion is 385.46 hectares," RIA Novosti quoted the press service of the department as saying.
It is noted that "two fires broke out in a day and two were liquidated."
“809 people and 92 pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing forest fires per day,” the press service added.
Earlier, the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia instructed to strengthen supervision over the implementation of laws in the field of fire safety in forests.
