The message comes from the county administrative board, which has now begun to reduce the more in-depth controls of the water that have been done for some time.

- It looks very calm and comfortable on that front. It's wet outside, says Måns Lindell, freshwater ecologist.

Prepared worst case scenario

But during the spring, when it was a period of dry and sunny weather, the county administrative board in Jönköping still began preparations for it to be another critical summer with extreme drought. But that did not happen.

- Then it looked bad, but since midsummer, July has been very cold and wet so it has alleviated the situation considerably.

But what are the margins?

- The margins are relatively small if, for example, there were four weeks of 25-degree heat without precipitation. Then it goes fast. But now it is well filled in lakes and streams as well as in groundwater, says Måns Lindell.
