It was during a firefighting operation after a small land fire in Sorunda on July 1 that a private person found a burned body and contacted the police.

A murder investigation was launched, but the police found it difficult to call in any suspected perpetrator.

Therefore, at the end of last week, they went out with an appeal for tips from the public on their website and in several media. Namely, they think they know that the victim traveled with the bus of the four the same night, and therefore went out with a picture from the bus' surveillance camera in the hope that someone who had made the same trip would get in touch with tips and observations.

A person suspected of involvement

The tips fell in, says Mats Eriksson, press spokesperson at the Stockholm Police, and now a person has been arrested - suspected of involvement in the murder. But if it was the public's tips that led to the arrest, he is unsure.

- That may to some extent be the reason, but I can not say for sure, he says.

The detainee is suspected of involvement, but the police are silent about the way in which the person was involved or why suspicions were raised.

- Interference can mean everything possible. Everything from aiding and abetting to murder to completely different things. We will see what the investigation provides, we are in an intensive investigation work, he says.

There is still a lot of work left, he explains, and the appeal for tips remains.

- We want additional tips and observations from that night and that bus trip, says Mats Eriksson.
