The Meteorological Administration of Thailand issued a warning on the 3rd that in the next 24 hours, there will still be heavy rains in parts of northern, northeastern, central, eastern and southern Thailand, and there may be floods and flash floods in some areas, reminding people to travel.

  In places such as Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, and Nan province in northern Thailand, torrential rains caused flash floods and rivers surged. On the night of the 2nd, a heavy rain raided Chiang Mai, causing local flooding. Roads and bridges from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai were blocked and some people were trapped in their homes.

  Loei province in northeastern Thailand is one of the hardest-hit areas. Days of torrential rains in the province caused extreme flash floods. Roads in some villages and towns were flooded, houses were washed away, and many people moved to highlands for refuge. According to preliminary statistics, about 680 families have been affected by the disaster.

  Thai Prime Minister Prayuth has ordered officials and relevant departments in the severely affected areas to mobilize their forces to speed up the rescue of the victims, request the relocation of the victims to safe areas, and the distribution of adequate food and drinking water. The Thai military has also sent 1,600 soldiers to the disaster area to help transfer the trapped people.
