Guest of the morning of Europe 1, the secretary general of the Republicans and deputy of Lot Aurélien Pradié denounced the inaction of the government concerning the fight against violence against women. "I have doubts about the commitment of the Keeper of the Seals".

INTERVIEW

Is the government doing enough in the fight against violence against women? No, to hear Aurélien Pradié. At the microphone of Europe 1 this Sunday, the Secretary General of the Republicans and deputy for Lot returned to the establishment of anti-rapprochement bracelets, a measure present in the law that he had brought to the National Assembly and which is entered into force on January 1, 2020. "The law has been in effect since January 1 and since then our country has not been screwed to set up the anti-rapprochement bracelet," he denounces.

Containment is not an excuse to justify the delay, according to the deputy

"I do not imagine that a great nation like ours needs several months to apply such essential provisions for the protection of women", he said, inviting France to be inspired by Spain. "In a large country like ours, administrations must be able to work including during confinement. Other countries are already doing it: we don't need to invent bracelets, they exist elsewhere".

Aurélien Pradié even implicated Eric Dupond-Moretti, recently appointed to the Ministry of Justice. "The Keeper of the Seals indicated that he was going to generalize the bracelet (...) but the gap between words and deeds is abysmal. I have doubts about the Keeper of the Seals' willingness to engage. 'have already challenged and I would do it again at the start of the school year, "said the deputy for Lot. Putting these bracelets in place, he said, is only a "question of political will". "We must take action urgently," he concluded.
