After a record cold July, it may now be time to pick out swimwear and sunscreen. From next week, summer and the warm temperatures are back again.

- On Wednesday, the high pressure grows and brings the European heat over us, says SVT's meteorologist Josefine Bergstedt.

Already at the beginning of next week, the temperatures will start to rise and reach their peak on Saturday.

- Then the heat reaches the whole country and there will be high summer heat also in Norrland. On Saturday and Sunday, when the heat wave is at its strongest, temperatures will be between 25 and 30 degrees in principle throughout the country, says Josefine Bergstedt.

Remain

It will be hot all next week and a few days into the week that follows. But warmer than the temperatures that reached the country in June, when even new heat records were set, it does not look like it will be.

- We are not talking about any record temperatures but it could be almost as hot. In June, we had up to 30 degrees in several places, says Josefin Bergstedt.

40 degrees in Europe

This week it has been extremely hot in parts of Europe where temperatures have risen to 40 degrees in some places. Authorities in many countries have warned that the heat could endanger lives. France, Greece, Italy, Spain, Switzerland and Romania were expected to have temperatures around 35-40 degrees over the weekend.
