A 29-year-old man on parole was shot dead in the middle of the street, the victim of three bullet holes, early Sunday morning in Grenoble, the prosecution said. It was shortly after 6 a.m. that the Grenoble firefighters received a call to inform them of the discovery of a body lying on the ground. On the spot, the police officers discovered the lifeless body of the victim, taken for target in front of a bakery having a night counter, specifies the deputy public prosecutor of Grenoble, Boris Duffau, in a press release.

Living in the Arlequin district, on the southern outskirts of Grenoble, the man was known to the police and justice services and had been monitored by the Grenoble sentence enforcement services since month of March, as part of a parole.

The forensic pathologist found three orifices including one fatal in the neck, adds the prosecutor. The investigation was entrusted to the branch of the judicial police of Grenoble. An autopsy will be performed on Monday morning.
