Recently, the University of Palermo in Italy held a university graduation ceremony for a 96-year-old railway worker. The old man received a bachelor's degree in history and philosophy from the school with honors, which is admirable.

According to reports, the old man named Giuseppe Paternò was born in Palermo on September 10, 1923. From a poor family and hardworking and studious, he started apprenticeship when he was a teenager. Through great efforts and dedication, he did not obtain an engineer's license until the age of 31 and officially became a railway mechanic.

In 2017, Patner decided to realize his university dream and began to study in the History and Philosophy Department of the University of Palermo. During his student career, Patner has won more than 30 academic awards and formally completed his university thesis speech on the afternoon of July 29. Patner’s tutoring professor Rossella Cancilla spoke highly of the paper.

Next, Paterno's goal is to obtain a master's degree. The elderly's children also support him very much.

The president of the University of Palermo said that Paterno has worked hard and studied hard for many years, from an illiterate apprentice to an engineer. His perseverance and enthusiasm for learning is admirable, and we are proud of him. (Edit Le Xiaomin)
