In July this year, the average temperature was 11.7 degrees, and no colder temperature has been measured in Särna since 1965 when it was 11.4 degrees. Had it been a more normal month of July, it would have been around 13 degrees.

June was the exact opposite. As much as 16.5 degrees this year, which breaks the old record from 1970 when 15.3 degrees was measured.

The meteorologist: "Records are usually polished with tenths - not over a degree"

SVT's meteorologist Per Stenborg is amazed by the weather changes.

- Unusual, yes of course, especially the record in June. Records are usually polished with one or a few tenths, not beaten by more than one degree, he says and continues:

- And it is unusual that it just managed to be weather that complied with the calendar with a shift just at the turn of the month. The weather often varies, but that it will be as clearly divided as so far this summer, with a shift just at the turn of the month, is very unusual. The summer as a whole is so far warmer than normal in Särna (about 1½ degree warmer), which many who have frozen in the cottages now in July probably have a hard time agreeing with.

Several Särnabor residents have noticed the weather change. Hear more in the clip above about their experience.
