FSB suppressed the activity of an Islamist cell in the Volgograd region

"The FSB of Russia, together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia and the Rosgvardia, suppressed in the Volgograd region the activities of the cell of the international extremist organization Tablighi Jamaat, banned in Russia," RIA Novosti reported.

It is clarified that a criminal case has been initiated against the organizer and five members of the cell for organizing the activities of an extremist group.

Earlier, FSB officers detained supporters of the Islamic State ** terrorist group, natives of one of the Central Asian republics, who were preparing the murder of servicemen and law enforcement officers.
