Moscow said that a Russian Sukhoi-27 fighter plane intercepted two American reconnaissance planes on Thursday, after approaching the Russian border over the Black Sea, the second such incident this week.
The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that the Russian fighter approached the American Strategic Reconnaissance plane (RC-135) and a P-8A Poseidon patrol plane.
The ministry added in a statement that "the two American reconnaissance aircraft were not allowed to violate the borders of the Russian Federation."
The Russian Ministry of Defense announced last Monday that one of its fighters intercepted an American "Poseidon" reconnaissance plane over international waters in the Black Sea.
On July 23, the Russian Ministry of Defense released a video clip of a US reconnaissance plane that appeared over the neutral waters of the Black Sea, as the plane was approaching the Russian border, so the Russian army began observing it.
