Mexico became the third country in the world in terms of coronavirus-related deaths on Thursday, reaching the 46,000 death mark, according to a report established by AFP on the basis of official data. Mexico is thus one unit ahead of the United Kingdom, which had 45,999 dead on Thursday. The first two countries most heavily affected by Covid-19 remain the United States, with 151,496 dead, and Brazil, with 90,134 dead, according to this report.

639 new deaths in 24 hours

However, mortality from the coronavirus reported to the total population remains higher in the United Kingdom than in Mexico, with 677.59 deaths per million inhabitants in the United Kingdom compared to 351.82 per million in Mexico.

In the past 24 hours, Mexico has recorded 639 new deaths from the coronavirus, and the number of confirmed cases of contamination reached 416,179 on Thursday, increasing by 7,730 from Wednesday, according to authorities.
