China News Service, July 31. According to the WeChat official account of the Chinese Embassy in Brazil, on July 29 local time, the Brazilian President’s Office of Civil Affairs, Ministry of Justice and Public Security, Ministry of Infrastructure and Ministry of Health issued a joint announcement to further adjust Relevant restrictions on entry of foreign citizens mainly include:

  1. According to Article 2 of the announcement, the Brazilian Federal Government has decided to extend the 30-day restriction on entry of foreign citizens into Brazil through land and sea ports from the same day (July 29). Relevant entry restrictions do not apply to the following situations:

  (1) Brazilian citizens;

  (2) Foreigners who have obtained a residence permit in Brazil;

  (3) Certified foreign professionals working for international organizations;

  (4) Foreign staff recognized by the Brazilian government;

  (5) Foreign spouses, partners, children, parents or guardians of Brazilian citizens; foreign citizens specially authorized to enter the country for public interest purposes by the Brazilian government; holders of the national immigration registration card RNM;

  (6) Personnel engaged in cargo transportation.

  2. According to Article 6 of the Announcement, the Announcement does not restrict foreign citizens from entering Brazil by plane while complying with Brazilian entry and exit requirements (for example, entering Brazil with a visa, etc.).

  Note 1: Short-term visitors who stay for less than 90 days must present to the airline a health insurance certificate valid in Brazil and valid for the duration of stay in Brazil before boarding.

  Note 2: During the validity period of this announcement, international flights are temporarily prohibited from entering the following state airports:

  1) Mato Grosso Sul

  2) Paraiba

  3) Rondônia

  4) Southern Dahe State

  5) Tocantins

  Note 3: The content of Note 2 will be adjusted in real time based on the assessment of the Brazilian Health Regulatory Agency.
