The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, earlier in the day, made a surprise visit to the Central Investigation Prison, at the site of Al-Muthanna Airport, in the center of Baghdad. His statement today.

The media office published a video on YouTube and pictures on Twitter from Al-Kazemi's tour of the prison, and he appeared in him talking to a number of detainees.

And Iraq has seen since last October unprecedented popular protests that included Baghdad and the central and southern governorates against corruption and demanding political and government reforms during which about 600 people were killed and thousands wounded.

Upon taking office last May, Al-Kazemi promised to reveal those responsible for the violence against the demonstrators and to improve public services.

Baghdad and several southern cities witnessed protests last week to condemn the blackout and to demand better service. These protests reached their climax last Sunday evening when two people were killed and 11 wounded in Tahrir Square in Baghdad.

This is the first protests in the era of Al-Kazemi, in which he kills the one who pledged to be the protector of the demonstrations, and to reveal those who caused the deaths and injured in the protests during the past months.
