The carabinieri arrested in the Odysseus investigation of the Prosecutor's Office of Piacenza remain in prison, which also led to the seizure of the barracks of the 'Levante' station of the Arma, the first case in Italy.

According to the investigating magistrate Luca Milani, after the guarantee interrogations, even if the risk of committing further crimes has eased, since the military were immediately suspended from service, however, the danger of probative pollution remains.

The investigation by the Guardia di Finanza, coordinated by the prosecutor Grazia Pradella and prosecutors Matteo Centini and Antonio Colonna, is in fact still ongoing and new developments are expected in the coming days. Among the reasons why the judge did not accept the request for revocation or replacement of the more restrictive measure is the fact that the declarations made by those who answered the questions, denying their role in the serious crimes contested, diverge significantly from the version given by the accused Giuseppe Montella, considered the key figure of the group ended up in the crosshairs of the investigators for facts dispatch, torture, extortion and more.

Montella, "a criminal, in the etymological and juridical sense of the term", as can be read in the prosecutors' papers that reconstruct the 'raids' of the' unfaithful 'carabinieri, has chosen a line of "complete, clarifying, explicit and without hesitation collaboration" , to use the words of one of his lawyers, the lawyer Giuseppe Dametti, at the end of the interrogation. Meanwhile, his partner, Maria Luisa Cattaneo, who was his accomplice to the investigators, obtained a mitigation of the precautionary measure. Defended by the lawyer Daniele Pezza, he remains under house arrest, but will be able to leave the house to see his children and, in addition, in agreement with the company for which he works, he will be able to do smart working. The same lawyer also defends Matteo Giardino, Alex's father, Simone and Daniele, accused of being the group's drug dealers. For him, the prosecutor asked and the investigating magistrate accepted an aggravation: from home he will join his children in prison because of a television interview made before the interrogation, prohibited for those subjected to the precautionary measure.

At the moment it does not seem that the defense of most of the suspects is willing to appeal to the Review Court, a procedural tactic to avoid a cumulation of negative judicial decisions against the assisted, albeit during the investigation phase. In the coming days, however, you should understand something more about the technical checks to be carried out in the seized barracks. The defenses asked for the evidentiary incident, so that they could appoint partisan consultants.

Meanwhile, the investigators continue to work under the track and it is not excluded that some of the people involved will be summoned again soon, perhaps even Montella himself, to better clarify some details that emerged at this stage.
