According to the investigation, in the period from 2018 to 2020, Koval received a bribe in the form of money and a car from the entrepreneur personally and through an assistant. The bribe amounted to more than 15 million rubles.
According to the ministry, the bribe was given for “assisting with the use of his official position in the allocation of budget funds” to certain state budgetary institutions of St. Petersburg, with which “the commercial organizations represented by the entrepreneur entered into state contracts.”
"The size of the bribe was 20% of the amount allocated to budgetary institutions of funds," - said in the UK.
Both suspects were detained on July 30.
In April, the FSB announced the arrest of the vice-governor of the Kirov region, Andrei Plitko. He is suspected of accepting a bribe on an especially large scale.
