Beijing News Express (Reporter Ni Wei) A reporter learned today (July 29) from the press briefing of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs that the issuance of preferential treatment certificates for retired soldiers and the "three subordinates" is progressing as planned.

In January of this year, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs and 19 military and civilian departments jointly issued the "Opinions on Strengthening the Work of Preferential Treatment for Military Members, Veterans and Other Subjects of Special Care". The survivors of soldiers who died on duty, and the survivors of deceased soldiers) uniformly produce and issue preferential treatment certificates.

Cao Jun, Director of the Department of Special Care for Retired Servicemen of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, said today that during the study of preferential treatment opinions last year, the work related to the development of preferential treatment certificates was initiated. After the document was issued, the Ministry through in-depth investigations, visits to various military and civilian departments, coordinated research, scientifically designed preferential treatment certificate production, use, and services to ensure the realization of core functions such as "showing honor and implementing benefits." Currently, the preparation and issuance of preferential treatment certificates is progressing as planned.

In addition, since August 1 this year, my country has initiated the renewal of four types of certificates: "Disabled Serviceman Certificate", "Disabled People's Police Certificate", "Disabled Reserve Personnel Militia Worker Certificate", and "Person Disabled at Work Certificate". Disabled military personnel with the "Disabled Military Card" can take free rides on city buses, trams and rail vehicles, and take preferential services such as discounts of 50% of the normal fare on domestic trains, ships, long-distance buses and civil flights. Disabled people's police with the "Disabled People's Police Card" enjoy the same preferential treatment as disabled soldiers.

It is reported that the renewal of the certificate mainly takes into account that the relevant pension and preferential treatment function has been adjusted from the civil affairs department to the retired military affairs department. The timely renewal of the certificate can better serve disabled soldiers and other objects. At the same time, in recent years, printing anti-counterfeiting technology has made great progress. Timely renewal of certificates, strengthening of anti-counterfeiting technologies, and improving the quality of certificates can better guarantee the implementation of preferential treatment and the protection of legitimate rights and interests of related objects. The new version of the certificate is uniformly printed by the Department of Veterans Affairs, is made of more environmentally friendly paper, uses a variety of anti-counterfeiting technologies, and implants high-frequency chips to write basic information on disabled persons, which improves the overall quality of the certificate.
