On Wednesday, pilgrims were transferred to sterile camps in Mina, before embarking on a morning walk to Arafat, 10 kilometers away, to stand on its pure level, the corner of the Great Hajj, amid strict precautionary measures to prevent the outbreak of the Corona virus among the guests of Rahman.

And the guests of Rahman turned to Mina after completing the rituals of the first day of the Hajj, as they performed the tawaaf of arrival around the Kaaba.

The pictures showed dozens of pilgrims parading the Kaaba in a scene that had not happened before in modern history, as the first day of the pilgrimage witnessed the participation of hundreds of thousands in the Tawaf of arrival.

The pilgrims performed the Tawaf of arrival while maintaining the social distance to prevent Corona, as the authorities set paths for the circumambulation, with markings to ensure that the guests of the Rahman maintained these distances.

Scenes of the stampede to approach the shrine of Abraham, which was wrapped in black cloth embroidered with gold and prevented pilgrims from touching it or approaching it this year, were absent from the sight of the arrival rush.

Corona pandemic canceled familiar scenes in Hajj and streets appeared almost empty in Mecca and holy sites (social media)

And while the number of the guests of Rahman last year reached about 2.5 million pilgrims, their number this year does not exceed 10,000, all of whom came from inside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, 70% of them are residents and the rest are citizens.

After overnight in Mina, the pilgrims head to the level of Arafat Al-Taher at dawn today, Thursday, to perform the largest pilgrimage corner, but Mount Arafat will not witness today the crowds that he composed over the decades.

The spokesman for the Saudi Ministry of Health, Dr. Muhammad Al-Abd Al-Aali, announced that the health status of the pilgrims is reassuring, and that no diseases affecting public health, including the emerging Corona virus, have been registered.

He added that the Ministry of Health has completed its readiness to provide health services for pilgrims in the holy sites.

The guests of the Rahman and the workers in the pilgrimage called for adherence to all preventive measures, including social spacing, wearing a muzzle, and maintaining personal hygiene to ensure the safety of all.
