The Jordanian Ministry of Health announced today, Wednesday, the death of a 5-year-old child and the injury of 700 people in Ain Al-Basha food poisoning after eating a Shawarma meal.

She explained - in a statement - that the deceased child was admitted to Prince Hussein Hospital in Ain al-Basha to provide treatment and follow-up by medical and nursing teams, but that he died due to his poisoning.

She pointed out that all the injured were admitted to the Ministry of Health hospitals, where laboratory tests carried out by specialized investigation teams by the Food and Drug General Authority showed bacterial contamination in meat and chicken.
