According to Izvestia, the bill was submitted to the government, new norms may be adopted in December 2020.
If the amendments to the Civil Code enter into force, then not only property, the legality of the acquisition of which could not be ascertained, will be confiscated, but also monetary funds - in the event that there is “no evidence of the legality of their receipt”.
The Ministry of Finance has not yet clarified which body will carry out checks on the legality of receiving funds. In addition, the minimum amount was not named, which "may raise doubts about the regulatory authorities."
In March, the Ministry of Finance proposed to allow the confiscation of money in rubles or foreign currency in case of illegal withdrawal of funds abroad.
