New York Chinese Truck Association calls for the establishment of a commercial driver’s license Chinese test

According to the US "World Journal" report, recently, the Chinese American Trucker Organization USA sent a letter to the New York State Senator, calling on New York State to provide a Chinese version of the commercial driver’s license test to expand Chinese employment. 　　The American Chinese Truck Association, a non-profit organization, was established on June 15 this year to assist Chinese in obtaining a truck driver's license and entering the trucking industry. At the same time, it strives to promote the addition of a Chinese truck driver's license test in New York State to eliminate obstacles that keep Chinese out of this industry.

　　Geng Xing, chairman of the board of directors of the association, said that there is a shortage of more than 100,000 truck drivers in the United States. Although many new Chinese immigrants want to enter this industry, they can only stay away because of poor English and unable to obtain a truck driver's license. "California has added a Chinese test for a truck driver's license since 2018. It is the only state in the country that has a Chinese test for a commercial driver's license. There are nearly 740,000 Chinese residents in New York State. We are promoting the increase of the Chinese test in New York State." Send a letter of legislative proposal to "Establish a Chinese Commercial Driver's License Exam" to the State Senator.

　　Geng Xing also said that before contacting state legislators, the association asked Governor Andrew Cuomo (Andrew Cuomo) Deputy Chief Diversity Officer Sun Wen about the feasibility of establishing a Chinese test for commercial driver's license in New York State.
