Today, Tuesday, the UN Security Council is holding a session at the request of the Al-Wefaq government to discuss the Libyan crisis, while Ankara accused the UAE, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and France of supplying the forces of retired Major General Khalifa Haftar with weapons.

The Libyan delegate to the United Nations, Taher Al-Sunni, said that the session will be a closed hearing of the sanctions committee and the team of experts, and the countries concerned will attend, especially those countries whose names appear in the committee's reports.

The Sunni added that it would be an opportunity to uncover countries that were involved in what he described as aggression and breaching UN resolutions.

The US military command in Africa (AFRICOM) said a few days ago that it had growing evidence that Russia, through the Wagner Group, was continuing to deploy military equipment in Libya.

Africom said - in a statement - that aerial photographs show Wagner forces and equipment on the front lines in Sirte, noting that Russia provided these forces with combat aircraft, armored vehicles, air defense systems and supplies.

This comes as Turkish Defense Minister Khulusi Akar accused the UAE, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and France of supplying Haftar's forces with weapons, while she says it supports a political solution in Libya.

Akar added during a video conference, "The only solution in Libya is the political solution, through the United Nations portal and under its auspices," he said.

For his part, Turkish presidential spokesperson Ibrahim Qalun said that the military moves in al-Jafra base in Libya are not a good sign.

He explained that his country and the government of National Accord considered this in preparation for the implementation of a new military attack, this came during a meeting with him, "CNN" Turkish.

Mercenaries and support

Earlier in the day, the "Berkane Fury" operation of the Libyan reconciliation government released photos that it said showed groups of Haftar forces - backed by the mercenaries of the Russian Wagner Company - while carrying out fortifications on the road linking Sirte and Jafra, at southern Sirte points, in anticipation of the progress of government forces Al-Wefaq to regain control of that area.

Al-Jazeera sources confirmed earlier that the Russian Wagner Company militants had dug trenches on the roads leading to the Al-Jafra area to block any expected progress by Al-Wefaq forces towards the area.
