Israeli estimates suggested that Hezbollah might launch a new attack against Israel along the border with Lebanon. She added that "the failure of Hezbollah in its operation on the Shebaa Farms yesterday could actually push it to launch a new attack."

Amos Harel, editor of military affairs in the Haaretz newspaper, said that the confrontation field between the Israeli army and Hezbollah fighters yesterday was "the favorite field of play on both sides, as Hezbollah uses it every time it wants to settle an account with the Israeli army."

He added that the region is empty of residents and away from civil gatherings, and that every incident can be contained away from the media and lights, pointing to "the deterrence equation established by Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah last year that for every operation in which one of his men is killed in an attack in Syria, the response will come from Lebanon ".

The same source confirms that the information came from various channels in Lebanon to confirm that "a military response is coming and it is only a matter of time."

UN investigation

The United Nations forces have begun their investigations into the Israeli artillery bombardment that occurred in southern Lebanon yesterday. While Israel warned Hezbollah against the consequences of attacking it, the party said that the unilateral shooting was "anxious and tense".

South Lebanon witnessed a notable military escalation yesterday, as the Israeli occupation army targeted sites in the vicinity of the occupied Shebaa Farms under the pretext of monitoring an infiltration attempt by Hezbollah members, but the party denied any infiltration or engagement.

The bombing targeted the vicinity of the "Ruissat al-Alam" site in the hills of the town of "Kfarshuba" and the farm "Shanouh" in the south, in addition to the vicinity of the occupied Shebaa farms. Pictures broadcast on Israeli Channel 7 showed the locations of the explosions, which it said were an armed cell that it had attempted to infiltrate.

In a press conference he held with a television channel with the headquarters of the International Organization in New York, Farhan Haq, deputy spokesman for the United Nations Secretary-General, called for reducing tension in southern Lebanon and exercising utmost restraint.

He said that the commander of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon is communicating with the parties concerned to calm down, assess the situation and find out what happened.

He added that "General Stefano Del Cole, the commander of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, is in contact with the parties to assess the situation and reduce tension, as well as to urge them to exercise maximum restraint and we support his efforts."

Israeli warning

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his defense minister, the alternative prime minister, Bani Gantz, had threatened Hezbollah, Syria and Lebanon, and held the two countries responsible for any attack by Hezbollah from their territories against Israel.

In a joint statement with Gantz, Netanyahu accused the party's secretary-general, Hassan Nasrallah, of involvement in his country, and said that a cell affiliated with him had infiltrated Israel, and had been foiled.

"We are looking seriously at trying to infiltrate our lands. Hezbollah and the State of Lebanon bear full responsibility for this event, and for every attack that comes out of Lebanon against the State of Israel," Netanyahu said.

He added, "Hezbollah must know that it is playing with fire, and every attack against us will be answered with great force. Nasrallah made a big mistake in assessing Israel's insistence on defending itself, and the state of Lebanon has paid a heavy price for this."

In the context, Israeli sources reported that Israel sent through mediators and international parties to Lebanon that its destination was calm and that it was not concerned with escalating the situation on the northern front, while confirming that its army is ready for confrontation and is ready for all scenarios.

Commenting on the events, Hezbollah said that "there has been no clash or shooting" from its side until now, but that "the shooting was from one party only, which is the fearful, anxious and tense enemy," according to its description.

The party affirmed in a statement that "everything the Israeli media claims about thwarting an infiltration operation from Lebanese territory into occupied Palestine and talking about injuries to the party is not true at all."

He added that "his response to the killing of one of his members in the Israeli bombing on the outskirts of Damascus airport ... is definitely coming." He also stressed that "the injury of a civilian's house in the southern village of Al-Habarya will not be tolerated."
