According to available statistics, antibodies to coronavirus infection COVID-19 in Russia are detected in about every fourth person taking the appropriate test. This was reported in Rospotrebnadzor.

“Antibodies to coronavirus are now one of the most demanded tests. Of course, everyone hopes that the result will be positive. But, according to statistics, we find antibodies in 20-25% of patients, ”the message says.

Meanwhile, there is no data yet on how much antibodies can be stored in the human body, and whether re-infection with coronavirus is possible.

“To answer these questions, we need to test as many people as possible of different ages and sexes, and different professions. These data are necessary to understand how to start using the vaccine most effectively, who to vaccinate in the first place, whether vaccination should be mandatory for everyone or only for certain groups of the population, ”the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare explained. ...

We add that speaking at the virtual symposium "Impact of the COVID-19 and HIV pandemic on the achievement of the sustainable development goal," the chief sanitary doctor of the Russian Federation Anna Popova said that 92 domestic systems for testing for antibodies have been registered in Russia.

"Today, 118 different tests are registered and used in Russia, more than 50 of them are Russian-made, 92 of them detect antibodies to the virus and 26 are used for polymerase chain reaction," said the head of Rospotrebnadzor.
