"By the end of 2019, the Accounts Chamber revealed 839 violations in the procurement and execution of government contracts in accordance with Federal Law No. 44-FZ for a total of 236.6 billion rubles," TASS cites the text of the report.

It is noted that more than half of the violations were committed at the stages of procurement planning and contract execution.

In June, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin called for a change in the practice of public procurement from foreign suppliers, priority should be given to Russian manufacturers.
