“It can be seen that the measures you have introduced since the beginning of the epidemic are working,” said Evgeny Manin, head of the Sochi anti-plague department of the Black Sea Plague Control Station of Rospotrebnadzor, adding that the epidemic situation in Abkhazia is safe.
Manin also assessed the level of work of the republican laboratory, where PCR diagnostics are carried out to detect coronavirus infection COVID-19.
"The laboratory meets all standards and carries out high-quality diagnostics," said a representative of Rospotrebnadzor.
It is noted that the total number of detected cases of COVID-19 in Abkhazia is 55: 37 patients recovered, two died.
Abkhazia has extended border closures and restrictive measures due to coronavirus until 28 July.
Earlier it was reported that the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Abkhazia Alexey Dvinyanin had a meeting with President of Abkhazia Aslan Bzhania.
